Great Happenings

Our first annual Women's Empowerment Summit was a huge success. Guest speakers shared their journey to success; obstacles they faced along the way and how they moved past them; how their dreams or goals changed throughout their career; words of wisdom for success; and how they give back to the community.

The Regional Internship/Apprenticeship signing day was held on April 30 at the Hood Center in Rock Hill. Thirty-five high school and college students were recognized for successful Work Based Learning as interns or apprentices at local companies in our region. The students and the company representatives signed their certificate of intent, indicating their commitment to each other. The LCSD Career Center coordinated 5 internships.

A Big Thank You To The Following Companies For Allowing Our Students To Experience The Workplace Through Internships:

Each spring semester the LCSD Career Center hosts every 8th grade class in the school district to a guided tour of the Career Center. Students are exposed to all of the programs offered in an effort to make them aware of the Career Pathways that include both college AND career ready courses.
