LCSD Technology Software Guide

This website outlines the technology software purchasing process and provides you with device and software selections that have been pre-approved for purchase by the LCSD Information Technology department. It is our hope that this information will streamline the ordering process and enable us to provide and support the technology that our students deserve.

The Technology/Software Approval Request process is completed by the school bookkeeper and entirely through Etrieve.  By using Etrieve, we are able to utilize many of its automated tracking features and provide our end users a more transparent experience. For example, individuals submitting requests will receive be updated throughout the approval process with a final decision as to whether the request is approved or denied.

If you have any questions regarding the purchase of hardware or chromebook extensions, please email them to ITadmins.

If you have questions regarding the purchase of instructional software, please direct those to the appropriate Academic department.

All digital content, services, or tools for use at the building or district level must complete the required review process prior to an approval for purchase. 

Digital content and services includes all of the following

  • any content and services delivered via technology

  • any software being considered for a department or workgroup to automate business practices. 

  • systems hosted either on district servers or in the Cloud. 

All digital content, services, or tools for use in LCSD must complete the required Technology/Software Approval Request process prior to an approval for purchase.

LCSD partners with 1EdTech for software vetting in an effort to be more intentional and strategic with educational technology tools used in classrooms, improving both data security and equity across the district's digital ecosystem.

The system must meet certification requirements as outlined in the specification documents for each 1EdTech Learning Consortium standard listed below. 

All partners are encouraged obtain certification by 1EdTech Learning Consortium as a platform or tool for the standards listed below. Partners must provide certification numbers; if not provided, a timetable for certification should be provided prior to any implementations. Partners are also expected to remain current with the subsequent versions and applicable extensions, and receive certification within a “reasonable” time period for each applicable standard listed below.
