Monday, May 13, is an A-Day.
Sixth grade students will be taking the SC READY Science exam on Monday, May 13. Make-up testing for the SC READY Reading, Writing, and Math exams will also take place throughout the week. Please continue to encourage your child to charge their Chromebook, get adequate sleep, and eat a good breakfast. We appreciate your support with this.
Kona Ice will be here on Wednesday, May 15, for all lunches. Prices range from $4-$7, and both cash and card will be accepted.
The Bands of AJ will present their Spring Concert this coming Thursday, May 16, at 6:30 p.m. in the VPAC. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
The AJMS lost and found is overflowing with sweatshirts, lunch boxes, and water bottles. Please encourage your student to look for any missing items. All unclaimed items will be boxed up and donated after Friday, May 24.
Recovery will run through May 24. If recovery is not served by then, your child will be in danger of being retained in their current grade or will be required to attend summer school. Recovery is held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday after school.
Add this to your calendars: The eighth grade promotion ceremony will be held on May 29 at 6:30 p.m.
Rising seventh graders and eighth graders can now submit their request for Encore classes for the 2024-25 school year using the form on the school website. The forms are due by May 31 and must be verified by a parent or guardian. Email addresses for the consenting parent or guardian must be included on the survey request. Schedules for next year will be formulated using these requests, and no schedules that are created according to the request will be changed.
We are still accepting money for our spring fundraiser. Our goal is $3,000. Just a reminder any student who collects $120.00 will be able to attend the Mega Party coming up very soon. Help support our AJMS Volunteers!
Finally, and very importantly, students have upcoming EOCs and Finals, counting as much as 20% of the student’s final grade for the class. Attendance at this time in the school year is vitally important, as teachers are spending class time directly preparing students for these EOCs and Finals. Please do all you can to assure your student is at school and on time daily. Again, these final weeks of the school year are incredibly important in preparing your student for success.
