May 20-24 will be Student Wellness Week, sponsored by LCSD Mental Health Counselors.
Monday is Mindful Monday, and students are encouraged to wear green for mental health awareness.
Tuesday is Team Up Tuesday. Dress as twins with a friend or wear your favorite team.
Thursday is Thoughtful Thursday, and students are encouraged to wear tie dye or bright colors.
Friday is Feel Good Friday, and students are encouraged to wear comfy clothes.
Remember that pajamas are NOT allowed, and all school dress code policies will still be enforced.
This is a reminder that all AJMS owned band instruments are due to the band room on Monday May 20.
Students enrolled in Algebra I will participate in end-of-course testing on Tuesday, May 21. It is important that your child is on time to school, has eaten a healthy breakfast, and has a fully charged Chromebook. This exam will count as 20% of your child's final grade in Algebra I.
Kona Ice will be here on Wednesday, May 22, for all lunches. Prices range from $4-$7, and both cash and card will be accepted.
All students will participate in a Text-Dependent Writing field test on Thursday, May 23. The state of South Carolina requires that all students participate. Students who are not present for the exam on Thursday will be placed on a make-up roster. Please encourage your student to come to school on Thursday on time, well rested, well fed, and with a fully charged chromebook.
The Spring Dance Showcase will be on Thursday, May 23, in the VPAC at 6:30 p.m.
This will be our last week collecting our Spring Fundraiser for Andrew Jackson Middle School. If your student collects $120.00, they will get to attend the mega party with music, an obstacle course inflatable, popsicles, and a lot of fun to be had. Please help us reach our goal of $3,000.
All library books are now due. There will be a charge for any library books that have been lost. Please see Mrs. Tillman for any amount owed.
The AJMS lost and found is overflowing with sweatshirts, lunch boxes, and water bottles. Please encourage your student to look for any missing items. All unclaimed items will be boxed up and donated after Friday, May 24.
Recovery will run through May 24. If recovery is not served by then, your child will be in danger of being retained in their current grade or will be required to attend summer school. Recovery is held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday after school.
Finally, add this to your calendars: The eighth grade promotion ceremony will be held on May 29 at 6:30 p.m.
