What a gem and Harrisburg Elementary is so lucky to have her. She is a kindergarten assistant who has a passion for working with students. She is amazing in the classroom as she works alongside her amazing teacher, Mrs. Cochran. Mrs. Peterson is enthusiastic about helping plan activities for students. She is always willing to take on any task and has a positive attitude in doing so. She greets students and parents in the morning car rider line with a smile on her face! Her hard word, passion, and dedication is a true asset in the classroom and at our school. The level of professionalism, grace, and kindness she shows every day are top notch and we are beyond thrilled to have her on our team!

Check out this weeks Tomahawk of the Week, Mrs. Mckenzie Kuppireddy!
Mrs. Kuppireddy is Harrisburg's hidden gem. She not only does an amazing job connecting with her students, meeting their educational needs, and managing a million different expectations- but she also gives her students the space to explore and grow in their creativity. Mrs. Kuppireddy gives her students the space to work collaboratively where I have seen them communicate, problem solve and work together to create some amazing class masterpieces. She encourages their interests and ties them into their lessons. She listens to her students on their level and connects with them each personally. The classroom community she has created is kind, caring, fun, loving and full of fun capybaras. Mrs. Kuppireddy blows me away everytime I step foot into her class. Her students LOVE learning. Her classroom is inviting. Her smile is welcoming. She is truly a gem. A gem that we are blessed to call our own!
Congratulations, Mrs. Kuppireddy! As this week's winner, you will receive a $25 gift card to Super Chix in Indian Land! Thank you Super Chix for your support!

Our Second Grade Tomahawks enjoyed a field trip down to Lancaster High School's Multipurpose Building today to watch Jammin' Fairy Tales. It was the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Students learned about what a fairy tale was and what makes up a fairytale. They were laughing and dancing along with the characters and some were even brought up on stage to dance with them. So many smiling faces! It was a great day to be a Tomahawk!
Kindergarten has had a fun filled couple of days at Hall Family farm. Students learned all about the life cycle of a pumpkin, got to pick a pumpkin from the patch, walked through a corn maze, enjoyed a fun hayride and got to play on their awesome playground.
