Lancaster County School District (LCSD) has partnered with the MUSC Boeing Center for Children’s Wellness to implement strategies that enhance the health and well-being of students. In the 2024-2025 school year, 18 schools participated in this initiative, focusing on nutrition, physical activity, and social-emotional wellness. Fifteen of these schools were recognized as School Wellness Champions, with Buford Elementary School awarded the Grand Prize Winner. #AllIn #OneLancaster

The North Elementary Knights strive daily to do their best. As of September 10th, North Elementary Knight students have received 33% of the total 2,207 positive referrals. These referrals allow students to compete for the Knights at the Round Table, with weekly drawings for a certificate, a Chromebook sticker, and ice cream. All students with referrals are entered into a monthly drawing, where K-1, 2-3, and 4-5 students can win a North Knight Golden T-shirt. Teachers submitting referrals can enter a drawing for Commander of the Knights and earn a jean day pass. #AllIn #OneLancaster

As of September 10, 2025, schools across the Lancaster County School District have sent 2,207 Positive Referrals to families regarding their student through SimplDiscipline!
This includes every K-12 building, the Career Center, and the Barr Street Learning Center! We're proud to catch our students doing the right thing!

National AVID Day is celebrated on September 12th, marking 45 years of the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program. This program prepares students in grades 7 through 12 for college and career success by teaching vital academic and organizational skills.

To celebrate, students and families signed AVID contracts. By signing, students commit to completing all homework, maintaining an organized AVID binder, actively participating in the AVID class, and seeking academic help when necessary. #AllIn #OneLancaster #AVID #signingday
