Today, 3rd and 4th grade students traveled to Lancaster to take part in The Banner Project, a collaborative initiative between the school district and the city in celebration of Youth Art Month. This event is hosted by the Lancaster County Center of the Arts (LCCA). This year, the LCCA invited students to create designs inspired by local South Carolina artists as part of a grant aimed at raising awareness of local artists throughout history. The banners featuring the students' artwork will be displayed on light posts along Main Street in downtown Lancaster. The city will hang them by the end of February in time for Youth Art Month in March.
